Services Provided

Approach

A psychotherapist is educated and trained to assist and empower individuals who want to shift the ‘how’ ‘who’ & ‘what’ they are at the present moment, working on improving and alleviating psychological distress and pain. Michelle works with local community groups working towards easing the experience of social isolation and homelessness and also works with a local women’s charity and their families impacted by cancer. She also runs suicide support and bereavement groups for those bereaved by suicide. Michelles work also gets her out into the rural community talking to local farmers and rural residents about mental health and connecting people and families with the services they may need. Michelles private practice see’s many and varied presentations being a semi rural community, anything from addictions to relationships, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, body image and much more.

Modalities

My work is informed and influenced by narrative theory, psychodynamic, heart math, mindfulness, meditation practices, breathing work, and general well being. I have a passionate interest in neuroscience and how the brain can rewire itself and also how our life experiences influence our behaviour and our relationships in the here and now, dealing with issues such as trauma, anxiety and depression to give clients therapeutic strategies to heal and integrate their profound life experiences. Attachment theory also informs my work. I have also embraced online health with a successful plunge into Zoom sessions which currently is 100% of my work.
