Clinical Psychotherapist & Counsellor

Meet Michelle

Michelle is a ‘local’ in the Hawkesbury District, living and working there since 1989. She is married with three children and is an avid animal lover with two horses, two dogs one of which works in her practice as a therapy dog and many chickens. Michelle has been in the health industry for over 35 years working as a Registered Nurse and from 2014 as a registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist also. Her work has been enriched by many disciplines including Intensive Care, Palliative Care, Mental Health, mediation, management, performance counselling, anxiety and depression, drug and alcohol addictions, grief, bereavement and end of life journey, suicide and self-harm along with many other life challenging issues. She also works closely with women’s cancer in Hawkesbury helping local women and their families through the arduous treatment, recovery and for some the end of life journey.

One of My Favourite Quotes of all Time is…

“when you change the way you look at things,

the things you look at change”

  (Dr Wayne Dyer).

This quote says alot about the power of Psychotherapy and the impact it has on shifting the position of how  an individual processes the input of the world, how they resolve or mitigate behaviours that cause angst and disharmony or emotional distress. Psychotherapy can also help with ingrained belief systems, addictions, thoughts, emotions and relationship issues. We work with the client to shift the way they process and view the world through different lenses and move forward in a preferred direction.

Meet Herzhund Emerald

– the happiest dog on earth!

We’d love to introduce ‘Herzhund Emerald’ or better known as ‘Emmie. Emmie is a young Chocolate Labrador and you can follow her adventures on Instagram @emerald_the_chocolate_labrador.
Emerald works in our practice as a therapy dog to help clients process their emotions and offer a calm place to work through difficult subjects.
She will often lay across the feet of an individual who is stressed or emotional, she just knows where she needs to be and is always open to a hug and a belly rub not to mention a treat.
If you’re not fond of dogs she will just stay in her space away from where you sit.
