    Whats the difference between Psychotherapist, Psychologist, counselling and Psychiatry?

    What are your qualifications, experience and do you have indemnity insurance?

    I have worked in the health industry for 35 years. I have four degrees including a Masters of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy completed in 2012-2013. Yes I have the appropriate indemnity insurance.

    Are you a registered Counsellor & Clinical Psychotherapist? Who is your registration body?

    Yes I am registered with the ‘Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia’ (PACFA)  as a Clinical Psychotherapist. I am also registered with the ‘Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse

    Do I need a referral?

    No referral required for an appointment with Michelle.

    Do you support the mental health care plan and medicare rebate?

    Unfortunately Counselling and Psychotherapy is not supported by medicare nor mental health care plans.

    Do you have HICAPS or Health Fund Rebates?

    Michelle does not have HICAPS capability. There are a few Health Funds that support counselling, you need to make enquiry prior with your health fund. 

    How many sessions will I need?

    That’s determined by you, how you progress, your needs and how you feel about your issue.

    Do you work weekends and after hours?

    By arrangement

    What is your availability?

    Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Other appointments outside this are by special arrangement only.

    What can I expect from my first session?

    Your first session is about both of us getting to know each other and you telling your story, how I can be of service to you and building a connection. You will leave with strategies and skills to develop to help with that positional shift.

    How long are your sessions?

    50 minutes unless by special arrangement.
